Engineers Week

“I love being an engineer because I am always solving problems and challenges, I have the opportunity to do so many different things. Engineering really has given me a great structured thought process which can be used to solve any problem!” – Kristin Sweeney, Director of Operation, US Aggregates

We recently celebrated Engineers Week, and one thing that was common among the engineers at HC+M is that they enjoy problem solving. We asked our engineers their favorite part of their career, when they realized they wanted to be in this field, what made them feel accomplished, and to describe themselves in one word. Watch the video to hear from our engineers!

“Dedicated, Dynamic, Diligent, Detailed” were words you just heard from our engineers. We couldn’t think of a better way to describe these employees! Engineers at HC+M do a multitude of jobs. At Milestone, they make plans on paper become a structure that is used by thousands of people each day. At US Aggregates, Kristin, and her team prospect, mine plan, blast, and process stone: all with the goal to improve safety and performance at the quarries. AMI engineers use the lab to investigate asphalt materials. From their findings they develop sustainable solutions to make asphalt perform better than ever before.

Our engineers play an integral role in our company by pushing the boundaries of applied science, solving technical problems, and improving numerous other areas to reach new heights. They are at the leading edge of innovation and play a huge role in shaping our future. When challenges arise, engineers answer the bell to brainstorm new solutions for projects to continue. Thank you, engineers, for elevating our business!
